Mother’s Day by John Foster
18/02/2008 by admin.
Mother’s day (March 2nd) is next in line for this year’s celebration. and makes me remember my mother and her life in which she gave so much to her family and friends, and touched the hearts of all she met, you see it’s not about being rich in life but having richness in your life.
And sharing the goodness within you that makes you special, and my mother had this in abundance, as I suspect do so many other mothers out there that will be descended upon by the children to say thanks for being there when they need her.
So how do we show our appreciation - Well in modern times the Card plays a big part, but this year do something special and make your own.
It’s not so hard as most people will know someone with a printer all you have to do is make it personal to your mother, try a 3 d card this involves sticking layers of card onto the front and building it up in layers. Flowers are good for this, I even used real ones but im sure you can come up with designs relevant to your mother.
Then of course the biggest time for the flower and plant industries and over the years you can now get a really nice display for less than ten pounds.
So go on do your best to say that special thank you because let me tell you, you only have one mother. and when they are gone they are gone but, you can still show your appreciation, for me I just close my eyes on mothers day and remember all the family get together and how mum and dad was the centre of our lives so happy together just having the children around them was enough to make them happy.
I have a little cry and then I am thankful for receiving that goodness from both mum and dad that made me the person I am today.
God bless Mums and Dads all over the world.

Christmas Decoration - A Few Tips on How to Enhance Your Home:By Julie Kinnear
02/12/2007 by admin.
Christmas is closing by at rapid speed and we slowly need to start to think how can we make it unique this year. This article will walk you through a couple very original tips that will help you make this years holiday memorable.
Themes - There are several options: You can use one single theme for your entire home or create a different theme for each room. How to do it? It all depends, certain families might prefer one colour that dominates all others, some a set of matching ornaments that appear all over the house.
Leave nothing untouched - How about bringing Christmas in to unusual spaces, such as the bathroom? It can be much fun to decorate unusual places. Don’t forget practical thinking - refrain from using materials such as paper or water paint in wet areas and watch for places that produce heat - I’m sure your home to be “burning with enthusiasm”.
The Christmas tree - If you opt for living trees, make sure you’re going to cut the stump with a fresh cut and put it in water immediately. You want to cut it diagonally, making the area of absorption larger. Set reminders and check the water level a couple times daily for the first week and refill if needed. If you have space in your home, it’s fun to put a tree in the smaller rooms as well. Get a mini-tree for the kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom, and get it to match with the theme of its surroundings.
Fake snow - Instant snow can be so much fun, it doesn’t melt and can produce many hours of joy.
The big snowman - Why not make a snowman right in your living room this time? You have two options - either you can use fake snow or paper, glue, a couple cheap inflatable balls and white textured paint. The rest is up to your imagination!
Lights - Instead of mimicing the presentation of a Christmas store, think about using lights with slow transitions and new colours that will accent the best features both outdoors and indoors as well. Often it’s just the matter of changing the light bulbs or use suitable coloured sheets.
Candles - Candles are an element which shouldn’t be missing from any Christmas decoration. The easiest way to make them more attractive and personal is to get blank candles of any colour and use three dimensional textured paint.
Christmas garland - Garland is one of the best tools to cover door frames, window frames and the edges of mirrors with. Don’t forget to secure the decorations with tape or something similar.
Reusing Christmas cards - You can cut out elements from Christmas cards, old or new, and put them on various items, such as curtains or tablecloth.
Bells - Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the bells. With ribbons, you can tie them together and knot at the top. Drape the bells over a door knob, this way they’ll ring every time as someone enters or leaves. Watch out, it might get a tiny bit irritating after a while!
As always, there are no limits for your imagination! Christmas is a great excuse to entirely change the feel of your home. It will not only bring a little variation but will affect you and your family’s mindset - which can result in stronger bounding and many wonderful memories that you will never forget.

Mens Wide Shoes - Your Personal Guide: By Dean Iggo
30/08/2007 by admin.
Shoes are probably one of the hardest items to pick out – there is no shoe size that fits all and two people with the same shoe size can’t necessarily invest in the same pair of shoes, so if you’re interested in mens wide shoes, here is a guide to picking out the perfect pair.
First of all, it’s important that you not only consider the width of the shoe that is necessary for you, but you must also look ahead and determine precisely what activities you plan to engage in with your mens wide shoes. Are you very athletic or do you simply enjoy a game of golf every now and then? Maybe you just want a plain casual pair of mens wide shoes or maybe you man a large boat and need a special pair of shoes that are not only wide but especially designed for boaters! Purchasing your mens wide shoes really is a personal and important experience! And every detail counts – for example, do you want a shoe with velcro?
So as you can tell, even though you’ve narrowed down your shopping to “mens wide shoes,” the options are still almost overwhelming. Here are some examples of what the specific shoes you could be looking at the shoe store: mens size 14 extra wide athletic shoes, mens 27 extra wide width shoes, mens extra wide velcro shoes, extra large wide mens shoes, mens27s casual shoes extra wide eee 3e, mens extra wide golf shoes, etc! The list goes on and on. From terms like “eee” to “3e,” you will have to get into the loop if you don’t want to miss out on the right pair of mens wide shoes. (The “e” refers to the widths of the shoes.)
As you continue looking for mens wide shoes, you may find that there are only a handful of mens 27 extra wide width shoes manufacturers. Mens shoes, extra wide, are already a niche product to an extent, so getting a more specialized kind like mens extra extra wide width mens shoes, may not be a walk in the park! But don’t worry, as long as you understand the terminology and what you’re looking for, you can use the Internet to help you on your search.

Las Vegas Myths: By Johnny Moon
05/08/2007 by admin.

What people don’t stop to think about is that Las Vegas is simply a town just like any other. They have schools, government offices, grocery stores, parks, all the normal features that every single town in America has. If one were to visit Las Vegas and venture off of the strip, they’d find a town with normal people going about their everyday business.
It’s said that prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. This is probably a popular notion due to the exhibitionist nature of the town with all the shows featuring nude showgirls. Vegas is also famous for their quickie wedding chapels and thousands of hotels. Go into any casino and you’ll find beautiful women in sexy clothes. Nevertheless this is all part of the Vegas image. Prostitution is illegal and people do get arrested for solicitation in Vegas.
The Hoover Dam is a huge construction that took five years to build and used four million plus cubic yards of concrete. It was a massive feat of engineering. During the building of this dam almost a hundred workers lost their lives. The rumor circulating is that some of their bodies remain buried in the concrete still. The truth is, the concrete was poured in small increments and allowed to dry before pouring the next batch. If anyone were to have fallen into the wet concrete, they would have been easily pulled out.
Due to the idea of Las Vegas being all casinos, hotels and shows, people tend to get the idea that every Vegas resident lives and works on the strip. Women here are all strippers and gorgeous. In actually, this couldn’t be further than the truth. While many of the residents may have jobs on the strip, they clock in and out and go home to their normal subdivisions in surrounding areas. Still others hold down jobs in schools, grocery stores and government offices and may rarely venture onto the strip. The women living here are normal looking just like the women in any other American town.
Once a woman who won a huge jackpot at the “Megabucks” slot machine experienced a tragic accident mere weeks after her winning and became paralyzed. Since that time a rumor has circulated that everyone who won a major jackpot at the Megabucks slot machines encountered a tragedy of sorts immediately afterwards. Even though the winners are alive and happy today, the rumors persist that they have died or have experienced some horrible incident.
Another myth includes bodies being found in a hotel’s box springs. There’s no proof or evidence that this ever happened in Las Vegas. It did, in fact, happen in some small town over on the east coast of the US. Somehow this incident ended up in Las Vegas as the rumor circulated.
As incredulous as this sounds, there’s even a rumor that kidneys get stolen in Vegas. Apparently someone started a story of a man who awakened in a hotel room one morning to a note that advised him to call 911 or else he would experience dire circumstances. The man supposedly did so only to be told by the doctors that he was missing a kidney.
Las Vegas is quite a colorful place with a crazy present and an even more raucous past. One can be sure to hear some interesting tales about this city. Just remember to take everything you hear about Las Vegas with a little bit of caution and amusement and know that outside of the Strip, Vegas is just a normal town with ordinary people going about their business.

The Perks of Owning Entertainment Credit Cards: By Morgan Hamilton
28/07/2007 by admin.

However, the card holder has to pay the full balance within 30 to 60 days. Otherwise, an unpaid balance will be reported negatively to the card holder’s credit report and he or she will incur large fees on the account. The car holder’s account will also be cancelled in case of failure to pay the balance in full. Fortunately, large purchases may be given an extension that can be paid out over the course of a few months. Charges that are related to travel are usually allowed a thirty six month grace period. However, the interest rate of entertainment credit cards is rather high and is usually between nineteen and twenty percent.
People also refer to these cards as charge cards. Entertainment credit cards include exclusive credit cards such as, American Express and Diners Club. These cards hold far more buying power than Visa or MasterCard, even if they may not be as widely accepted. A card holder can also enjoy many additional benefits apart from credit with entertainment credit cards. Some cards offer insurance, catalogues, cash advances and other benefits.
People with perfect credit and earn over $100,000 per year have the best chances of getting entertainment credit cards. Credit card companies can trust these people to pay off their balance per the terms and they also have enough money to pay if they should default. Since entertainment credit cards are on the elite group of credit cards, they are difficult to get and cardholders have to keep their accounts in order. They have to remember that credit card companies report quickly to the credit agencies and also send accounts to a collection agency.

Ballet Shoes and Pointe Shoes and More Flexibility: By Dianne M. Buxton
08/07/2007 by admin.
Also, allow your ballet shoes and pointe shoes to dry as much as possible in between classes, they will last longer, and will not lose that exactly right fit so soon. Having two pairs of each helps, if you can do that.
Intensive training in ballet means intensive use of the flexor muscles. Battment tendu, grande battment and developpe en avant mean heavy use of the iliopsoas (hip flexor) muscles. Without constant stretching, this tension will compromise your turnout, as the tension at the side of the hips will counter the thigh’s ability to rotate outwards. It will also lessen the flexibilty of the low back and front of the hip, in doing an arabesque.
A standing lunge done in between exercises will relieve the tension building up in the hip flexors and postural muscles. Finding exactly the right balance between strength and stretch is what creates power in your work.
One of the best ways to stretch for a good arabesque is at the corner of the studio where you can hold on to one barre, while placing yourself in your ideal arabesque position with your working leg on the barre of the other wall behind you. If there is a lower barre, use it so as to get an upright back position. Do a demi plie repeatedly, holding the position well-placed.
If there is no corner with barres, get a fellow student to hold your hands to keep you upright, and place your leg on the barre behind you to do your demi plies.
A wonderful stretch regimen for dancers is yoga. My favorite is “Ali McGraw - Yoga Mind & Body”. It is a few years old but still available. It is not for beginners, but dancers will love it. The positions are easy for most dancers, and give fantastic relief to muscle tension. Done in the evening it will leave you stretched and ready to sleep.
A more active stretching routine is the “Classical Stretch” series. On a lighter class schedule day, or on a no-class day, the “Athletes’ Intense Stretch” will get rid of the muscle tension while still allowing muscle recovery.
If you are recovering from injury, both of the above may be helpful, but please consult with your doctor, teacher or trainer as to whether you are ready to do these routines.
Losing electrolytes and dehydration can cause muscle tension and cramps. Real sea salt on your foods, calcium/magnesium supplements and “All 12″ cell salts are a great help. Celery is one of the saltiest foods you can eat, organic, multiple mineral salts, and it is a hydrating food too - a perfect snack in between classes.
The apparency of weight loss through dehydration is a seductive trap. Recognize it and don’t worry about weight. If you feel puffy from drinking water, then your mineral balance is off and your cells are floating in water but are not able to use it. So you’re still dehydrated. Forget the junk food sports waters. Better to mix a pinch of sea salt into your water and drink it. Neon colors and a couple of minerals won’t help.
So please take care of yourselves in the heat, treat spare time as recovery time, and you will reap the most benefits from your summer intensive!

Dressing For The Job: By Darren Robbo
15/06/2007 by admin.
Assess your potential work environment. If you’re in a creative industry there’s room for more personality in the way you dress. But creativity does not mean sexy. Sexy is inappropriate in the workplace and it is essential to make that “first impression “ count. Never let your clothes get in the way of expressing your message.
Dress codes are often changing in today’s work environment.
Wardrobe Propriety
In a conservative work place, a smart suit is required but in a business appropriate environment there’s more flexibility, it’s more of a tailored look. The key factor remains that no matter what industry you are in it is important to dress appropriately, smartly and conservative.
Business Casual
Business casual does not mean weekend clothes. Fitting is important, quality tailored clothes are essential. Attention to details is essential, good quality shoes, good belt and good bag.
This is important even in a casual working environment, and finding a comfortable pair shoes for the workplace is essential, especially if you have a job that requires long periods of being on your feet or various meetings with clients and colleges. As any office worker knows finding the correct footwear is essential but this can be a challenge. . Business Wardrobe Organization
First assess your business wardrobe. Get into your closet. What do you have? Take all of your business clothes and hang them in a specific area of your closet, check out your selection of shoes what matches what? Plan out your day the night before.
It is as important to strategise your business wardrobe, as it is to strategise a good interview and business presentation. The biggest mistake you can make is not taking your business wardrobe seriously. Consider yourself the brand and your clothes the packaging.
Look at your clothes. Think about what impression you want to give, what you’re going to be doing and who you are going to meet the next day. Pull out an outfit and try it on to see if it still fits, it may have been a while since you last wore it.
This kind of preparation will help you to be prepared at all times, to look your best and perform adequately on the job no matter what the circumstances are.
One of the many ways, and probably the most effective that we choose to express ourselves is through the colour and style of our clothing. This expression is intended to make the maximum, and most powerful impact as possible.
Our clothing selection and choice of shoes do not simply cover the body and protect us from the elements, they make a visual statement and advertisement abut how we view ourselves. Clothes reinforce our self-image and help to define who we are.
They can boost our confidence when we look good, but when we get it wrong they can sap that confidence just as quickly.
